Graphic 45 Design Team Audition 2015
Este ano decidi ousar. Vou responder à chamada da Graphic 45. Adoro a marca. Os papéis são ousados e diferentes. Coloridos e cheios de pormenores. Por esses motivos e mais uma série deles que não sei colocar em palavras, gosto muito de trabalhar com eles. Por vezes gosto tanto dos papéis que não tenho coragem de os usar... guardo-os para uma coisa especial... sou mesmo palerma. Na gaveta ninguém os vê! Nem eu!
This year I have decided to be bold. I am answering to the call of Graphic 45. I love the brand. The papers are bold and different. Colourful and ful of details. For these reasons, and a whole lot of other I can't quite put to words, I really enjoy working with them. I sometines like the paper so much that I lack the courage to use them... I keep them for something special... silly me! Hidden away in a drawer noone can see the! Not even me!
Bem, vamos ao que interessa. Uma coisa que me esforço por fazer, é reciclar ou reutilizar objectos. E isto nem sempre é fácil. Desta vez decidi utilizar embalagens vazias de aperitivos tipo batata frita para fazer um organizador de secretária.
Usei 5 embalagens, cortando-as à medida com um x-acto. Depois revesti cada parte com papéis da colecçºao "Artisan Style".
Duas das embalagens transformei em gavetas. Para isso, cortei-as ao meio. Depois, aumentei o diâmetro da porção exterior abrindo o cilindro longitudinalmente e acrescentando uma tira de 0,5 polegadas.
Decorei as tampas de plástico com círculos de papel que colei com cola de contacto.
Dispus todos os elementos sobre uma espessa placa de cortiça que tinha sido previamente revestida com um papel da mesma colecção.
Uma vez que não encontrei chipboards desta colecção, decidi fazer "cortiçaboards" colando papel a pedaços de cortiça que depois cortei em círculos, furei e enfiei com fio de padeiro colorido.
Ficou melhor do que tinha antecipado, e está agora na minha secretária cheio de caneta e marcadores e pincéis e tesouras e outras coisas que tais.
Well, lets get to the point. One thing I try to do when crafting, is recycling os repurposing objects. This isn't always easy! This time, I decided to use some empty snack containers to make a desktop organizer.
I used 5 containers, cutting them down to the required size with a craft knife.
I then proceeded to "clothe" each segment with paper from the "Artisan style" collection (Its gorgeous, by the way).
Two of the containers I turned into drawers. To do this, I cut each in half. Then I enlarged the outer half by opening the cilinder lengthwise, and adding a 1/2 inch strip of cardboard to the diameter.
I decorated the plastic lids by cutting circles of paper and glueing them to the outer side with contact glue.
I assembled everything onto a thick slab of cork which I had previously covered with a paper from the same collection.
Since I couldn'f find any matching chipboards, I made some "corkboards" adhering paper to the surface, and cutting circles which I the perforated and strung with bakers twine. It turned out better than I first expected and is now sitting on my desk filled with pencils and pens and brushes anc craft knives and othe such implements.
Outra coisa que gosto de fazer são mini-álbuns. Acho interessante o processo da construção de um livro de raiz.
Este fiz há já algum tempo com papéis da colecção "Once Upon a Springtime". As fadas eram encantadoras!
Another thing I enjoy doing are mini-albums. I like the process of building a book entirely from scratch.
This one I made a while ago with paper from "Once upon a Springtime" collection. The little fairies were so delightful!
Gosto muito de ver as paredes cobertas de obras de arte. Não podendo comprar Van Goghs ou Picassos, thenho muitos quadros pintados pelas minhas filhas. Alguns muito naïve, pintados quando eram pequeninas, outros mais elaborados pintados sob a orientação de uma professora de pintura.
Eu, no entanto, não sei pintar - tão triste :(
Mas... posso sempre criar arte com a ajuda da G45 e dos seus papéis e palavras inspiradoras. Sou bastante prolífica a fazer quadros com poemas e citações de escritores famosos.
Este fiz para o quarto da minha filha. É parte de um soneto de Florbela Espanca. Uma das minhas poetisas preferidas, juntamente com elisabeth Barrett Browning que também escrevia belíssimos sonetos.
I really like seeing my wall filled with works of art. Not being able to afford Van Gogh's or Picasso's I have many paintings by my daughtes, some very naïve, painted when they were little, some a lot more elaborate, created under the guidance of an art teacher.
I, however cannot paint - so sad :( . But... I can always create with G45 papers and inspiring words. I am quite prolific at making wall hangings with poems and quotes from famous writers.
This one I made for my daughte's bedroom. It is part os a poem by a famous portuguese lady poet called Florbela Espanca. She is one of my favourite poets, along with Elisabeth Barrett-Browning. The both wrote beautiful love sonets.
Loosely translated, it says " Neither the perfume of the carnations / nor the colour of the violets / nor the shine of the stars / nor the dreaming of the poets / can equal the beauty / of the exquisite flower / that opens in your mouth / your enchanting smile".
Usei papéis da colecção "Botanical Tea" e "Place in Time", letras autocolantes, chipboards e os carimbos "antique typewriter woodstamp set" da G45.
Como precisava que o resultado final fosse maior do que 12 por 12 polegadas, recortei a margem de uma folha de "Botanical Tea", Separei os quatro lados diagonalmente nos cantos, colei cada segmento num dos lados da folha central onde carimbei o peoma, iniciando cada verso com uma letra autocolante. No final disfarcei os cortes com flores que recortei e chipboards. No final envelheci as margens adicionando alguns rasgões para dar um ar mais usado ao quadro.
Acho que ficou muito bonito.
I used papers from "Botanical Tea" and "Place in time" collections, as well as some alphabet stickers, chipboards, and the "antique typewriter woodstamp set".
As I needed the final result to be larger than the standard 12 by 12 inches, I cut out the border from one page, separated each side diagonallu at the corners, adhered each segment to one of the sides of the central page where I stamped the poem inicialling each verse with a sticker. Then I disguised the cuts in each corner with flowers I had fussy cut, and some chipboards. To end, I distressed the borders, adding a few tears to give it a more used look.
I think it turned out quite well!
Há dias uma amiga estava a sentir-se em baixo. Pensei em fazer algo que a alegrasse. Aqui está o resultado. Foi mais um projecto de reciclagem Desta vez uma caixa que trazia uma garrafa de vinho especial. A caixa era toda preta e demasiado grande para o que pretendia. Cortei-a à medida com um x-acto e revesti-a com papéis "Artisan Style". Depois colei uma etiqueta da mesma linha, e completei-a com palavras e frases de incentivo retiradas de uma folha de "Place in time" e duas borboletas que recortei de uma folha "Sweet Sentiments". Para a tampa fiz uma gigantesca flor com restos de várias colecções e decorei o centro com cola brilhante lilás. Enchi a nova lata com os bonbons artesanais preferidos delas e voilá!
Acho que a animou um bocadinho...
a few days ago, one of my friends was feeling a little down. I thought of making something to cheer her up. Here is the result. It was another recicling project. This time, a large tin that had come with a special wine bottle. The tin was all black and too large for what I had in mind, so I cut it to size with my craft knife and covered it with an "Artisan Style" paper. Then I glued a lable from the cut aparts and filled it with word and phrases of encouragement taken from a sheet of "Place in Time" and two butterflies I fussycut from a "Sweet Sentiments" sheet. For the lid I made a large flower with leftovers from several collections and applied some violet glitter glue. Lastly I filled the box with her favourite chocolates and voilá!
I think it helped brighten her day just a little...
Por vezes uma prenda pode ser realçada com uma etiqueta bonita. Esta foi feita usando uma da G45 como molde. Usei um padrão de penas de pavão da colecção "Olde curiosity shoppe" e fiz um bolso com uma tira dos hilariantes porcos voadores da mesma colecção. Fiz então várias etiquetas com restos de diferentes colecções, Colei palavras soltas, uns ataches e fio de padeiro. Simples mas eficaz!
Sometimes a gift is enhanced by adding a pretty tag. This one was made using a G45 tag as a template. I used a peacock print from "Olde curiosity shoppe" and made a pocket with a strip o the hilarious flying pigs. Then I made a few small tags using several scaps and glued words and added a couple of brads and some twine. Simple but effective!
Uma outra coisa que gosto de fazer são placas com os nomes de pessoas, principalmente de crianças. E gosto também de trabalhar com cortiça. É um material orgânico muito agradável ao toque, quente e leve. É também muito, muito português.
Estas placas de cortiça foram feitas com papéis da colecção "Secret Garden" e foram uma prenda de despedida para duas meninas muito especiais.
Another thing I like to do are name plates, especially for children. And I especially like to work with cork. It's a very natural and organic material, pleasant to the touch, warm and light. It's also very, very portuguese.
These cork backed wall hangings were made with papers from the "Secret Garden" collection and were a farewell gift for two very special young ladies.
